Discover Gotland
Gotland has so much to offer. Unique places and magnificent landscapes. It is truly something different. You have to try the food. And you must discover the crafts – both culinary and handwork.
Bathe in the Blue Lagoon

There is something special about Ar on northern Gotland. With its history of calcium mining, it is a magical place. Many of the old open mines are now water filled and among them is the place that is today called “Blå lagunen” or in English – “The Blue Lagoon”. Each summer this is very popular among bathers. The water is crystal clear and azure blue. No algae survives here. It is a glimmering paradise.
Asunden Seastacks

One of Gotland’s most impressive seastack areas is situated on the north-eastern side of the beach on the island of Asunden. Asunden has other attractions to offer as well. For nature lovers there is rich fauna and flora and for bird spotters, it is the place to be. Especially on the island’s north-western side. Its beaches are part of the European ecological network, Natura 2000.
Grynge fishing village

Potteries

All along the Gotland coast there are plenty of fishing villages. One of the most impressive is Grynge with its twenty-odd old shanties dating back to the 18th century.
Gotland boasts a number of fine potteries, the oldest of which was founded more than a century ago and you can find it in Etelhem.
Kutens Fårö

Kutens Bensin on Fårö is a cult-fiction place where Bill Haley and the Comets and Seasick Steve have performed. It is the perfect place for you who want to experience old-style American life with timeworn, rusty cars and a true 50’s rock'n'roll feeling. When you get hungry you can order Creperie Tati with French galletté and crêpes. Kutens Bensin on Fårö is the place to be.
Visby

Visby – the city of roses and ageless ruins steeped in history with a romantic aura. One and the same, it is an idyllic town, but it is also Gotland’s largest place of residence with more than 25,000 people calling it their home. Visby has attracted tourists for centuries and is today one of Sweden’s most loved holiday destinations.
Visit Lilla Karlsö

Lilla Karlsö is an island situated just three kilometres from the west coast of Gotland. It is part of Eksta parish. The geology here is matchless, there is a singularly unique plant and bird life to discover and a special cultural history. A ferry will take you from Djupvik fishing harbour to the island. For bookings call 0498-240500 or e-mail boka@storakarlso.se

Lickershamn’s Holiday Village is situated just a few hundred meters from the beach. It is surrounded by breathtaking vistas and offers magnificent walks. With its impressive seastacks, here you will find Gotland’s largest – Jungfrun. Lickershamnskrogen is a genuinely Gotlandic inn situated right on the beach where you can enjoy a culinary extravaganza ranging from crisp, local-grown salad to mouthwatering sandwiches, tapas and fine dining.
Restaurang Irebaden

Just a bike-ride away you will find Ihrestrand. It is a magnificent, child-friendly, sandy beach. There is also a picturesque restaurant that offers lunch and evening dinner severed by welcoming staff.
Ramble around Furillen
